Special team visits Shar Shalipora Middle School to take note of complaints
Srinagar: Taking strong note of the public grievances regarding Middle School Shar Shalipora, a special team headed by Joint Director School Education South, Nasir Ahmad Lone visited the school to ascertain the facts at ground situation.
After listening to the grievances of public, Lone presented a detailed report to Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), G.N. Itoo.
This visit was conducted on the directions of Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganaie.
Itoo after assessing the report, said that actually the classes for the students were not carried out in the unsafe building and people of the area were demanding for the upgradation of the school and feasibility report for the same has been sought.
Stating the seriousness of Department for redressal of grievances DSEK said that keeping in view the grievances of the public and to ensure better facilities of the students we have given a two days’ time for preparing DPR for the construction of additional accommodation for the school.
He said that the Department has sanctioned Rs 25000 for ICT lab, Rs 20000 for repairing the washrooms on spot and authorized the headmaster of the school to utilize the funds for making the school attractive. He further said that the school will be provided with new furniture within a week.
DSEK said that the Department is taking many steps for the redressal of grievances of students, teachers and general public regarding education which include the public grievance darbar at Directorate of School Education Kashmir on every Thursday and the direct listening of the grievances of general public during the tour of different Districts.
DSEK said they recently visited Baramulla and Anantnag and directly interacted and listened to the grievances of students, teachers and general public and issued on spot directions in many cases while the redressal of many grievances is under consideration.
Itoo said that we are trying our hard to provide better teaching learning facilities to the students and for this purpose we appeal to the students, their parents and teachers to help us by bringing the issues in our notice.
