Lack of accountability leads to aggression: DFP

Srinagar: Strongly criticising the ongoing “open aggression” of security forces against the people of Kashmir, Democratic Freedom Party DFP) on Thursdaycondemned it, saying masses are harassed every now and then.

According to a statement, secretary general of Freedom Party, Mohammad Abdullah Tari, said, “It is because of the unbridled powers given to the security forces and the lack of accountability that every day innocent civilians are killed and wounded, besides properties vandalised and youth arrested.”

Tari said that “brutal use of force, harassing the elderly and arresting people in nocturnal raids has become a routine affair in Kashmir and the security forces continue to harass people at their will and wish”.


He expressed sympathies with the the parents of slain Faizan Ahmad of Ladhoo, Khrew who was killed in Pulwama last week.

Meanwhile, Tari demanded for returning of mortal remains of slain Mudasir Ahmed Bhat of old Barzulla, who was martyred in an encounter with army on June 29 in Kupwara. He said that the delay in returning the mortal remains to his family is “condemnable and inhuman”.
