Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Thursday rejected Narendra Modi’s statement that “Jammu and Kashmir is a developmental issue” and termed it “far from truth”.

In a statement, a spokesperson of the outfit while rejecting the statement, said that such statements are made to fool the people.

She said that God has blessed Jammu and Kashmir with massive resources which makes us self-dependent. “India is using the resources of Jammu and Kashmir to do away with the poverty that is prevalent in their backyard,” she said.

Reacting to the statement of army chief that the prevalent situation is a result of unemployment, she asked: “Dr Mannan Wani, Prof Dr Rafi and Burhan Wani, all these youth who have taken up the arms, were they unemployed? Isn’t the picking up of arms by these youth raising a question for them?”

She said that these statement are being made to fool the people and hide the reality.

Speaking about the arrival of Rajnath Singh and Ajit Doval in Jammu and Kashmir, the spokesperson said that the duo is not in Kashmir to get apprised about the Amarnath Yatra, “but to know first-hand whether Kashmir has been turned into a military state or not”.

Rejecting the threats to Amarnath Yatra as a mere “propaganda”, she said that the people of Kashmir are well aware that this is a “conspiracy” and nothing else.
