Asiya Andrabi, two aides charged with sedition by NIA, shifted to Delhi

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case of sedition against Asiya Andrabi, chief of the women’s pro-freedom group Dukhtaran-e-Milat (DeM) in Jammu and Kashmir, and two of her aides. Jailed Asiya Andrabi, is charged with waging war against India, media reports said on Friday.

As per media reports Asiya Andrabi was shifted to Delhi along with her two aids and they will be produced before the Patiala House Court later today.

Sources in DeM confirmed Kashmir Reader that Asiya along with Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi were shifted to Delhi early today.

The NIA filed an FIR against Andrabi on April 26 for allegedly advocating secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India and calling for Jihad and use of violence against the country.

In March, an FIR was registered against activists of Andrabi’s outfit for celebrating Pakistan Day. The video of the event had gone viral on social media. The activists also sang Pakistan’s national anthem.

Andrabi, wife of jailed pro-freedom leader Dr Qasim Faktoo, was named in an earlier NIA case in which Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahuddin were chargesheeted.
