Srinagar: NIA on Friday produced Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chief Syeda Asiya Andrabi and her two associates before Delhi court where they were sent to a 10-day NIA remand for allegedly waging war against India.
NIA produced Andrabi along with Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi in Delhi’s Patiala House Court in connection with two separate cases registered against them.
Earlier the three ladies were shifted from Srinagar central jail to Delhi by the investigating agency.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case of sedition against Asiya Andrabi, chief of the women’s pro-freedom group and two of her aides.
The NIA filed an FIR against Andrabi on April 26 for allegedly advocating secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India and calling for Jihad and use of violence against the country.
In March this year, an FIR was registered against activists of Andrabi’s outfit for celebrating Pakistan Day. The video of the event had gone viral on social media. The activists also sang Pakistan’s national anthem.
Andrabi, wife of jailed pro-freedom leader Dr Qasim Faktoo, was named in an earlier NIA case in which Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahuddin were chargesheeted.
