Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Unemployed Tourism Professional Association on Wednesday protested here in press enclave for demanding a framing of a policy by Rehber-e-sayahat Scheme.
The protesters demanded that there should be Tourism Degree holders should be absorbed in the scheme without any political interference.
Marching from Pratab park Srinagar, protestors gathered in press enclave here and chanted slogans “we want justice”, “frame legal policy” and ‘do not make us move from pillar to post.’
“We gave the concept of Rehbar-e-Sayahat to the administration and they politicised the scheme by absorbing blue eyed candidates who are there voters,” said Khursheed Wani, President of Jammu and Kashmir Unemployed Tourism Professional Association. “This is sheer injustice with us and administration is plying games with our career. This is intolerable,”.Wani added.
The Association said that they had submitted the file of Professional Degree holders under reference number TSM/Gen1-42/2017 date 03-10-2017. But at the eleventh hour the degree holders were expelled and dropped out.
“Degree holders have been dropped out and political influential candidates with just few month crash courses were selected as the Tourist Facilitators (TFs), said Irfan Shabir who has a degree in tourism studies.
The President of the Association alleged that the selection list of TFs is “pre-selected” and “politically motivated list”.
The protesters claimed that candidates with six month crash course and political influence were adjusted.
