PAMPORE: Students of Muslim Educational Institute (MEI) Pampore hit the streets Tuesday protesting against the killing of classmate Faizan Ahmad Poswal.
Faizan, a class 10 student at MEI Pampore, was shot dead by the government forces during clashes near an encounter site at Chatapora in Pulwama town on Friday. Scores of students came out on roads raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans and marched towards the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Drangbal Pampore. The students banners and pictures of Faizan.
Later, the students dispersed after police reached the spot.
The school remained shut on Monday “in memory of Faizan”.
“The Management and Administration of the Institute through Facebook page extend heartfelt condolence to the family of Faizan Ahmad Poswal, 10th class student of this Institute, on his killing,” read a post on a Facebook page of MEI. “May ALLAH give forbearance to the bereaved family”.
