Windstorm wreck havoc at Beerwah in central Kashmir

Budgam: Fast blowing winds on Tuesday wrecked havoc in this central Kashmir district while a  family had a narrow escape after a tree branch fell on their residential house that collapsed in Beerwah town.

Soon after the heavy windstorm, a mighty Chinar tree branch broke and fell on a two storey residential house and damaged the upper story completely.  However, the family escaped unhurt.

More than two dozen houses collapsed after dozens of trees uprooted and fell on them in Beerwah township.

Power supply lines were also damaged leading to chaos in the town.

SDM Beerwah told Kashmir Reader that the windstorm brought everything to standstill in the town.
