PAMPORE: Hundreds of people, including Hurriyat leaders, visited the residence of slain student Faizan Ahmad Poswal at Gosainad Ladhoo area of Pampore on the fourth day of his death.
Witness told Kashmir Reader that people thronged Gosainad to offer prayers for the departed soul and express solidarity with the bereaved family.
Faizan’s father Abdul Gani Poswal, a doctor, received his body while he was on duty at district hospital Pulwama on Friday. Faizan, a 10th class student, was shot by government forces during clashes near an encounter site at Chatapora in Pulwama town on Friday.
Muslim Educational Institute (MEI) Pampore, where Faizan studied, remained shut on Monday. A post on school’s Facebook page, offered condolences to the family, and announced that the school would remain closed on Monday ‘in his memory’.
Dr Gani told Kashmir Reader that his son had been hit a bullet in his chest that had damaged his heart.
