SRINAGAR: The joint resistance leaders (JRL) on Sunday expressed grave concern over the employing of SOG personnel “as an aggressive and repressive measure” against peaceful and unarmed civilians and the pro-freedom leadership and activists.
In a statement, JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik condemned the nocturnal raids by forces, ransacking of properties and inflicting “atrocities” against civilians and political activists.
The right to self-determination is our birth right, JRL said adding Indian authorities are hell bent on curbing and strangulating our genuine aspirations and political voice.
“Purely political and peaceful movement as recognised in UN is being negated and denied with muscular policy and by resorting to military might,” the leadership said.
Paying tributes to slain youth Mudasir Ahmad Wani and Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik said “the grieved families are anxiously waiting to receive the dead bodies for last glimpse”.
Commenting over the continuous CASOs, the JRL termed it “revengeful tactic” against civilians.
The leadership appealed to world community and UNO to impress upon New Delhi to “shun military and egoistic approach against innocent civilians and put an immediate halt to human rights abuses and atrocities” in Kashmir.
