SRINAGAR: Syed Ali Geelani-led Hurriyat Conference on Monday held a meeting of its executive body (Majlis-e-Shoora) at its Hyderpora headquarters which was presided over by the amalgam general secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji.
A spokesperson of the amalgam in a statement said several important issues related to struggle for right to self-determination were discussed in the meeting which was attended by the heads or representatives of conglomerate’s constituent parties.
The meeting condemned the continuous house detention of Syed Ali Geelani, saying it is taking a heavy toll on his health. The participants warned that if any untoward happens to Geelani, New Delhi and local rulers “shall have to face the consequences”.
The meeting urged UNO and international human rights organisations to play effective role in resolving Kashmir issue.
“People in occupied territory are committed with cause and have pledged to take freedom movement to its logical end,” the meeting observed.
