SRINAGAR: Taking strong note of the fresh wave of killing spree in Kashmir coupled with the detention and house confinement of pro-freedom leaders and framing of resistance leaders under “fictitious” cases by NIA and ED, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat Conference on Saturday said all these steps are being taken under a well-planned conspiracy to break the resolve of people of Kashmir and the resistance leadership.
“These ploys are nothing but a sheer and worst ever political vendetta,” a spokesperson of the amalgam said in a statement issued here.
He said NIA has no moral justification for framing “fake” charges against senior resistance leader Aasiya Andrabi and her close side Fehmeeda Sofi as the duo are already languishing in prison since long and that these steps are nothing but “a mere frustration” of New Delhi which has failed to break the resolve of people of Kashmir.
The spokesperson said arresting resistance leaders and lodging them in jails to muzzle the movement for right to self determination was tried in the past but failed to yield results for Delhi and now same old methods are being employed which are destined to fail.
The amalgam lauded the patience and courage of resistance leaders lodged in Dehli’s notorious jail, Tihar, saying these prisoners deserve all appreciation for their courage and patience.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson condemned the detention of its senior leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and lodging him in police station Sherbagh, Anantnag.
“Waza was on way to Pulwama hospital to meet the injured in the recent forces’ action but was bundled into police vehicle which is highly condemnable,” he said.
