Says BJP making ‘desperate attempts’ to explore possibilities
SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has warned against “any attempt at government formation by indulging in any illegal and unconstitutional methods of horse trading and other foul means”.
In a statement, JKPCC president Ghulam Ahmad Mir said, “Any such attempt by any quarter to defeat the constitutional provisions of anti-defection law would be met with tough resistance by people who would not accept any backdoor entry to power.”
Mir lashed out at BJP for its “desperate attempts” to explore possibilities and said any effort to indulge in any such exercise by adopting “illegal and unconstitutional” means would entail serious consequences.
“The consequences of the betrayal of mandate and formation of an unholy alliance by PDP-BJP against the nature of respective mandate of two parties, is before everyone,” JKPCC chief said and cautioned the political forces and individuals to desist from such tactics otherwise they shall be responsible for any further deterioration in the “overall worst” political and security situation.
