Srinagar: Muslim League chairman Mushtaq-ul-Islam on Thursday expressed its serious concern over the fresh spurt in the CASO across Kashmir especially in South Kashmir areas.
In a statement issued here, Islam said that intense frisking and search operations have triggered a fresh wave of “terror” among people as elderly, children and women are living in constant fear especially in south Kashmir.
Islam condemned the “oppressive tactics” of the state authorities against resistance leadership and people.
“Force or coercive measure will never force us to surrender,” he said.
“Employing highly insensitive, undemocratic and repressive methods to push the leadership into submission and to break their resolve are destined to fail,” he said.
“History stands witness that no genuine movement can be muzzled through “military might” and that aspirations of people have to be acknowledged sooner or later and the issues resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of masses,” he said.
However, Islam strongly denounced the authorities’ decision of filing cases by NIA and Enforcement directorate against ailing and detained DeM chairperson SyedaAsiyaAndrabi, terming it as “political vendetta”.
He accused the authorities for using NIA and Enforcement Directorate to suppress the sentiments of pro-freedom leadership and added all these suppressive and coercive measures won’t let down our spirits.
