Employees stage protest, demand fulfillment of their demands

SRINAGAR: The government employees from various departments on Thursday staged a massive protest demonstration here demanding the fulfillment of their long pending demands.
The protesting employees from various departments Including SSA Teachers, Anganwari workers and helpers, Urban Local Bodies, Forest Department, Fisheries Department, Agriculture Department, Horticulture, Power Development Department, Rakhs and Farms Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Geology and Mining Department and Food and supply and consumers Affairs department participated in the protest.
The protestors from various departments first assembled here in press enclave under the banner of Employees Joint Consultative Committee of Jammu and Kashmir (EJCC). Later the huge gathering of protesters marched towards the Ghanta Ghar and raised the slogans against the government.
“We demand the timely payment and delinking of SSA salaries and implementation of 7th pay commission should be implemented for SSA teachers without any further delay,” said Aijaz Ahmad Khan chairman EJCC.
“Our motive is to put these legal demands across the state administration under the excellence of Governor NN Vohra, khan said.
“The motherly and biased looms of State Government have created chaos and bewilderment among the state government employees, and we are living under terrific pressure and despair”, said one of the protester.
The protester demanded the regularisation of daily wagers, contractual employee’s, casual labourers, fair price shop dealers, hamals of CAPD, preraks and necessary amendments and corrections in SRO 520.
The president of Anganwari centres Association, Tasleema Subhan said they are working in the department from last 40 years but it is unfortunate that the state administration is putting them in dark.
“All the anganwadi centres in Jammu and Kashmir are closed from last five months we would continue our protest untill we would get a proper written order from State Administration for the fulfilment of our legal demands”. Tasleema said. We have finally decided to hit streets as there seems no other option for us, she added.
The protesters demanded the Removal of pay anomalies and grade discrimination in various departments especially horticulture, agriculture and rakhs departments and departmental promotions for its employees.
