BARAMULLA: Fourteen employees were suspended on Wednesday during a visit of a team constituted by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to check attendance of employees in Government offices.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir constituted a team of officers comprising of ADC Handwara and Tehsildar Handwara to pay surprise visits to various offices in this sub district to check attendance of all employees on regular basis.
In this connection, ADC Handwara Pirzada Muzafer Hussain and Tehsildar Handwara paid surprise visit to many offices including irrigation office Handwara to check attendance of employees on Wednesday.
During the perusal of attendance register, it was found that 14 employees of the irrigation office were unauthorizedly absent from their duties and were placed under suspension immediately. Explanation within three days clarifying their position was sought from the said employees and enquiry was initiated.
The ADC Handwara directed the concerned to deduct one day’s salary for absence from duties of the said employees and credit the same to the account of District Red Cross Society.
Meanwhile, DC Kupwara said that strict action as per the law should be initiated against the employees found unauthorizedly absent from their duties. He said that instructions through various circulars to strictly adhere to office timings and full attendance of employees at government offices have been issued from time to time.
