PULWAMA: Clashes erupted between youth and government forces at Gusoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday evening after government forces launched a cordon and search in the area.
Local told Kashmir Reader that when the forces started cordon and search operation at Bon-Mohalla, Gusoo village of Pulwama, people took to streets and shouted pro-freedom slogans and pelted stones on the forces, triggering clashes.
The forces responded by tear smoke shelling to disperse the protesters.
Sources said that searches was launched by forces after received inputs about the presence of militants in the village.
SSP Pulwama Mohammad Asalam Choudry told Kashmir Reader that Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched by government forces ended peacefully.
He confirmed that minor stone pelting incident during the operation.
