SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) on Monday condemned the killing of a youth Yawar Ahmed of Ghassipora Wanpoh in Kulgam on Sunday and said unabated civilian killings were unacceptable and can’t be tolerated.
Party central secretary and former cabinet minister Sakina Itoo while expressing grief over the killing on Yawar Ahmed expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul, a statement issued here said.
“Civilian killings are taking the Valley deeper and deeper into an abyss of alienation and disenchantment and it is incumbent on the administration to ensure there is no further loss of precious lives,” Itoo said. “The youth stand alienated and isolated and such tragedies are pushing them further away from the system at grave costs to the cause of peace, stability and normalcy in the region.”
