SRINAGAR: Expressing serious concern over the unabated killings in Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that killing of unarmed Mohammad Yousuf Rather at Khiram, Srigufwara and injuring his wife Rafeeqa Bano has put a question mark on the “so-called” state authorities.
“Killings in Kashmir Valley on day to day basis is a matter of grave worry,” a JKDFP spokesperson in a statement issued here said. “These killings are the direct result of the heavy militarisation of the region.”
He said that forces did not allow Sayar Ahmad, to attend the funeral of his slain father which speaks volumes about the rights violations taking place in the disputed region.
Paying tributes to Dawood Ahmad Sofi of Srinagar, Majid Manzoor Dar of Pulwama, Aadil Rehman Bhat of Anantnag and Mohammad Ashraf Itoo of Anantnag, the spokesperson said that human blood is very precious and needs to be saved.
He pledged that the “sacrifices of martyrs of Kashmir will be protected at all costs and nobody will be allowed to derail the struggle for the right to self determination of the people of Jammu Kashmir”.
