3-day seminar on Indo-Iranian Persian Literature begins at KU

Srinagar: A three-day seminar on ‘Emergence of moral and ethical values in Indo-Iranian Persian Literature’ began at the Kashmir University here on Thursday.

According to a statement issued here, the seminar, organised by varsity’s Persian department, is being attended by scholars and academics from various countries including Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Kazakhstan.

Vice Chancellor Prof Khurshid Andrabi, who presided over the seminar, underscored the importance of holding such seminars where scholars from various countries participate and deliberate upon key aspects of the Indo-Iranian Persian Literature.

Dr Jehangir Iqbal, Coordinator, Department of Persian, underlined the aims and objectives of the seminar and also highlighted the achievements of the department over the years.

Prof Shaief Hussain Qasmi, Prof Abdul Khaliq Rashid, Prof Mohammad Munawar Masoodi and Prof Arif Ayoubi also spoke on the occasion.
