Two south Kashmir districts observe shutdown

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Tuesday on eve of 24th death anniversary of Dr Qazi Nissar.

Late Qazi, a religious scholar was shot and killed by unknown gunmen in Dialgam area same day in 1994.

One among the founding fathers of Muslim United Front (MUF) in 1987, Qazi was Mirwaiz south Kashmir used to deliver sermons at Anantnag Jamia masjid.

Local sources said Kulgam areas are also observing shutdown against the killing of a youth last evening by Army at Nowpora Akhran.

Ajaz Ahmad was shot dead by Army personnel after locals objected to allegedly snatching of mobile phones by forces personnel and pelted rocks on Army party.
