SHOPIAN: Gruesome videos and photographs of two men confessing to being informers, two days after they were shot at by suspected militants at Trenz village in Shopian district, went viral on social media on Monday.
On Saturday evening, suspected militants shot at two persons in Rampora area of Trenz village. According to family sources, the two are admitted at a Srinagar hospital and their names are Sheeraz Ahmad Malik, son of Nazir Malik, and Aijaz Ahmad Mir, son of Bashir Ahmad Mir. Both have bullet injuries on their legs and ears.
The photographs and videos show one among the two as half naked, tied by a rope to a tree, and blood coming out of his body and ears. This person has been identified as Ajijaz Ahmed Mir.
He is seen “confessing” before militants, “I twice informed (government) forces about presence of militants. I informed them about presence of militants at Barbug village and Choigund village.”
Another video shows Sheeraz Ahmad Malik confessing that he informed government forces about militants’ movement and their presence at Babakhider and Kunsoo villages. At both these places, militants had managed to escape the cordon of government forces.
Both Aijaz and Sheeraz can be heard saying in the video that some other persons were also working as informers for government forces.
