Srinagar: A civilian was killed and another sustained injuries after Army personnel opened fire in Nowpora Akhran village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday evening.

Witnesses said that Army soldiers opened fire after some youth, objecting to identity parade pelted stones on them.

Two civilians were hit by bullets identified as Ajaz Ahmad son of Bashir Ahmad and Rayees Ahmad.

Both of them were rushed to Anantnag Hospital were doctors declared Ajaz brought dead. Hospital sources said that Ajaz was hit on his chest.

They said that Rayees was being treated.
