SRINAGAR: The Secretary Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar has announced that Eid-ul-Fitr prayers would be offered, as per programme, at the historic Eidgah here at 9:00 am. In case of rain or bad weather, the prayers will be offered at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar. The timings for prayers and sermon will remain the same.
A statement issued by the Anjuman said that prior to Eid prayer?s, ?Mirwaiz Umar Farooq would shed light on the philosophy of Eid ul-Fitr in his sermon which will commence at 8:00 am.
It has urged the people to participate in the Ijtima (congregation) in large numbers to express unity and maintain discipline.
People are urged to bring prayer mats along; the Anjuman said and announced that Zakat al-Fitr (Sadqa-e-Fitr) for this year has been fixed at Rs 50 per person that is mandatory to be paid before Eid al-Fitr prayers.
