UDHAMPUR: District Red Cross Society on Thursday celebrated World Blood Donor day at district hospital here. Physician District Hospital, Dr. Arun Mahajan, was the chief guest.
During the event, Dr. Mahajan exhorted the youth to donate blood regularly to save lives of accident victims as there is no alternative to human blood. He said the objective of organising such camps is achieved when a large number of volunteers donate blood for the noble cause of saving human lives.
On 14 June every year, World Blood Donor Day is observed all around the world to spread awareness about the need for regular blood donations and its requirement to saves lives.
Among others, staff members of district hospital besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
