The bullet-riddled body of the soldier was recovered late in the evening from Goosu village of Pulwama.
The army man, identified as Aurangzeb, a resident of Poonch was on way home from his place of posting in Pulwama district when he was abducted by suspected militants at Kalampora.
He, as per local army sources, was going home on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr when militants abducted him from a private vehicle, he had taken a ride from near the 44 RR base camp in Shadimarg area of Pulwama district.
“The army men at the Shadimarg camp had asked a Pharma employee from Pampore area to drop “their man” up to Shopian,” a senior police official told Kashmir Reader.
He said that Aurangzeb was travelling towards his home in Poonch via Mughal road.
