Indefinite strike of Girdawars, Patwaris enters 31st day

Pampore: The State wide pen down strike of Girdawars and Patwaries entered 31st day on Wednesday with hundreds of Patwaris of Pulwama district assembled at Tehsil office Pampore and raised slogans against the government for ignoring their demands.
On the call of all J&K Patwar Association, Patwaries and Girdawars of Tehsil, Pampore, Pulwama, Kakapora, Awantipora, Tral and Aripal under the leadership of District president Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad Malik registered their protest at Tehsil office Pampore to press for the fulfillment of their long pending demands. The demands include grade pay for Graduate patwaries, timely DPC of Patwaries and Girdawars, creation of GQ Circles and Patwar halqas, ban on direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildar, enhancement of allowances for Patwaries and Girdawars, rent for Patwar Khanas (private accommodation) and construction of Patwar Khanas, District president Pulwama told Kashmir Reader.
