Job aspirants dejected as Consumer Affairs delays recruitment process

ANANTNAG: It has been eight months since Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department in Anantnag district issued a notification for recruiting class-IV employees-approved through a government order six years back.
Now, more than 7000 aspirants for about eight class fourth posts have been left in limbo by the authorities.
The authorities have taken no action whatsoever after advertising the posts back in October 2017, leaving the aspirants who had thronged to fill in the application forms dejected.
The department had actually woken up to a government order number; 80-CAPD of 2012 dated November 26-2012; regarding recruitment of class-IV pots.
About six years from the 2012 government order the department in Anantnag issued a notification and set October 25, 2017 as the last date for submission of application forms.
Sources in the department told Kashmir Reader that the department received more than seven to eight thousand application forms for the eight advertised posts, till the last date of submission.
“Now, more than eight months have passed since and the department seems to have forgotten about the posts yet again,” an aspirant from Anantnag told Kashmir Reader.
Other aspirants, Kashmir Reader talked to, lamented that the delay in such processes actually paves way for back door entries.
“Otherwise what is the purpose of halting the process. Delay will only ensure people with political patronage getting into the system-like we have been witnessing in the recent past,” another aspirant said.
The officials of the department did not put forth any reason for the delay. They however assured that the process will be set rolling after Eid.
“I recently talked to honorable director in a meeting and he has assured that the process will be started after Eid,” Assistant Director of the department for Anantnag, Manzoor Ahmad, told Kashmir Reader.
