IUST organises community health programme

Awantipora: To aware and sensitize the community especially the youth, Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology IUST organized two-day school health programme.
According to a statement, as a part of societal responsibility, IUST is trying its level best to reach to the different sections of the society through education, research and various outreach programs.
The statement said the programme was held at Government Primary School, Aghazpora Awantipora and Hajahad Public School, Awantipora. “Around 1760 students and 63 school teachers participated in the programme which included training about brushing technique, health assessment, mass-deworming, and health awareness regarding various emerging communicable diseases etc.,” the statement said.
Toothbrushes and various anthelminthic drugs were distributed to the students free of cost after proper medical consultation, it said.
“The concerned school principals and teachers appreciated the programme and expressed their gratitude and happiness in conducting such programmes in future as well,” the statement added.
