Shopkeeper shot by gunmen in Kakapora, critical

PULWAMA: Gunmen opened fire on a civilian outside his shop at Kakapora Chowk in Pulwama district on Friday evening. The injured man was shifted to a Srinagar hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
Pulwama Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohammad Aslam Choudhry told Kashmir Reader that some militants opened fire at the shopkeeper, Manzoor Ahmad Pandit, outside his shop at Kakapora Chowk in the evening, soon after he closed his shop.
The SSP said that Manzoor received three bullets in his chest and legs. He was immediately shifted to Public Health Centre Kakapora from where he was referred to a Srinagar hospital in critical condition.
Soon after the attack, army, police and paramilitary CRPF rushed to the area and launched a search to nab the assailants, local sources said.
On May 29, a special police officer (SPO), Aqib Wagay, was shot at by militants at Puchal village in Pulwama district. He succumbed to his injuries after remaining in medical care for more than four days on June 2.
