In Kupwara, Rajnath promises jobs in 5 new police battalions

Kupwara: Home Minister Rajnath Singh went to the frontier district of Kupwara on Friday where he met with several “delegations”. Singh arrived in the morning Singh along with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh.
Talking to reporters, Rajnath said that a decision on extending the Ramazan ceasefire in Kashmir would be taken after proper consultations with the public representatives of Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh said that the delegations that met him put forward their demands and discussed different issues. He said the central government had taken some measures and further steps would be taken for the welfare of the people living in border areas of Kashmir
He said that five new police battalions would be raised in Jammu and Kashmir and 60 percent of their recruitment would be from people living in border areas.
