Day 2: PHE employees hold candlelight protest, demand release of wages

Srinagar: Kashmir Public Health Engineering Department Joint employees Association on Friday held a candle light protest on the second day here in press enclave Srinagar against their higher authorities for failing to release their pending wages.
Scores of the casual labours, daily wagers, need base workers and ITI workers from PHE department assembled here in press enclave and shouted slogans against the department for not releasing their wages which are pending from a long period of time.
The protesters holding placards read “ Hamari Tankhwa Waguzar Karo,” “Kashmir PHE funds ki funds ko Jammu divert karna Manzoor Nahi,” “Na Insafhi Nahi Chale gi, Nahi Chalegi,”
Sajid Ahmad, Chairman of Kashmir Public Health Engineering Department Joint employees Association, said, “We are facing lot of financial crisis due to the attitude of the government towards us. We are appealing the government that it’s an injustice with us”.
“If the government has approved the salaries for both Jammu and Kashmir then why is Kashmir part being neglected, he added. “We are not getting our monthly wages which is pending from last 18 months. The government is pushing hundreds of casual labourers, need base workers and daily rated employees to wall,” said a protesters
The protestors also said that Finance department has released the amount for the employees but the department is delaying the release without any reason.
