Two army men injured in Keran encounter, hospitalised

Kupwara: Two army men were injured in a gunfight with militants in Keran sector of Kupwara district on Thursday morning.
Sources said that an army patrol of 6 RR was attacked by a group of militants along the Line of Control (LoC) when militants crossed the border and fired upon them.
Both the injured were shifted to army hospital for treatment. A search operation has been started in the sector to find the militants.
Sources said that reinforcements have been rushed to the area, but some sources said that the militants crossed back to the other side of LoC.
Srinagar-based spokesperson of the army Col Rajesh Kalia confirmed that two soldiers were injured when militants fired on an army patrol along the LoC in Keran sector.
Some sources said that one among the two injured soldiers succumbed in the army hospital. No official statement has been made yet.
