Pays tributes to Hazrat Ali (RA)

SRINAGAR: Chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesdaysaid Kashmir issue was the basic reason for the rift between India and Pakistan and that innocent lives will continue to go waste on both sides of the LoC unless serious measures are taken to address the core dispute.
In a statement issued here, Mirwaiz said that while ceasefire at the LoC is a welcome step, the GoI must understand that delaying the resolution of Kashmir issue can at anytime aggravate the situation and raise tensions between the two countries.
“On one hand, the GoI is beating the drum of ceasefire and dialogue, and on the other, young lives are being lost on a daily basis,” Mirwaiz said and paid tributes to youth Mudasir Ahmed and Sheeraz killed in Tanghdar sector of Kupwara.
“The leadership and the people of Kashmir are committed to take the ongoing mission of martyrs forward and it is time to stay united and remain steadfast towards our goal. The best way to protect these sacrifices is follow the cause of freedom in unison,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA), Mirwaiz said that Hazrat Ali (RA) spent his entire life for the cause of Islam and followed the footprints of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) till his martyrdom. He was addressing people at the shrine of ‘Dastgeer Sahab’ Sarai Bala here.
“Hazrat Ali (RA) earned frame for being born in the house of Allah, the Khana-e-Kaaba. He was also martyred in a masjid in Koofa. Hazrat Ali (RA) will continue to be a role model for the Muslims till the day of judgement. He fought for justice and fairness with full might and didn’t surrender till his last breath, which will be written with the golden words in the history of Islam,” Mirwaiz said.
