SRINAGAR: A central meeting of executive council of Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir was held at its head office here on Tuesday.
A spokesperson of the League in a statement said the meeting was called to strengthen the party at grassroots level and discuss other issues.
The meeting was presided over the acting chairman of League Abdul Ahad Parra and attended by central as well as district members, he said.
He said Parra took stock of prevailing situation in Valley and stressed upon the central leaders and members to strengthen the League at grassroots level.
“Indian government, agencies, print as well as electronic media leave no stone unturned to malign the movement and to defame the freedom struggle in Kashmir,” Parra said on the occasion. “For that, they are using certain tactics.”
The League acting chairman said the Kashmir freedom struggle is like a prayer for them and that they will never be cowed down by “misleading reports” carried out by Delhi-based media.
