Sopore: An army vehicle was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Yemberzalwari area on the outskirts of Sopore late Tuesday evening.
The IED was planted on the roadside at Yemberzalwari village which is almost 15 kilometres from main town Sopore. It partially damaged the army vehicle but no injuries were reported.
SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal told Kashmir Reader that just as on Monday, an IED was planted to target an army vehicle. He said it was a low-intensity IED, so the damage was not much.
After the IED blast took place, more government forces were rushed to the spot and the whole area was cordoned off. Searches were launched to nab the assailants, SSP Javid Iqbal said.
On Monday, a low-intensity IED blast damaged the tyre of a police vehicle in Wadoora village, near SKUAST University, on the outskirts of Sopore town.
Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit had claimed responsibility for the Wadoora IED blast.
