Kulgam family protests in Srinagar, demands dead body of slain militant

Srinagar: The family members and relatives of slain militant Mudassir Ahmad Bhat who was killed in an encounter by Indian forces at  Karnah border on 26th May Tuesday held a protest demonstration here in press enclave and demanded the dead body of the slain.

Mudassir hailed from Parigam village of district south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The protesting family members and relatives of the slain said that Mudassir was killed in an encounter on 26th May.

“We were unaware about the encounter in which Mudassir was also killed. We came to know about it after a Facebook page updated about it. We have seen his photo on the Facebook page,” they said.

“We approached the authorities however nothing has been done so far,” they said.

Pertinently, Army on May 26 claimed the killing of “five foreign infiltrators” along the LoC in north Kashmir. Later two families of south Kashmir, one from Kulgam and another from Pulwama claimed that their kin have been killed in the said gunfight.
