Srinagar: Station House Officer (SHO) Shopian and one of his guards are among ten who sustained injuries after suspected militants Monday hurled a grenade on a police party in South Kashmir’s Shopian.
The incident happened at Sumo Stand near Batpora road, when a police vehicle was around.
Witnesses said that the grenade missed the target and exploded on the road injuring many.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Shopian told Kashmir Reader that they received ten injured including SHO Shopian, Gulzar Ahmad, a policeman and eight civilians including two ladies.
CMO, Dr Abdul Rasheed further said that one of the ladies had critical injuries.
Soon after the blast the policemen fired in air which added to the chaos.
