Srinagar: Police on Sunday said a police guard fired few rounds in the air after noticing suspicious movement near the house of a National Conference leader in Pulwama district.
A police spokesperson said that the guard was on his duty in the district when he observed some suspicious movement near the residential house of the protected person.
“An alert sentry fired few rounds in the air this afternoon. No loss of life or property has been reported,” he said.
Further details are being collected, he added.
However, reports said suspected militants, three to four in number fired upon the residential guard of Abdul Rashid Nengroo of NC at his residence at New colony Pulwama.
The reports added that the guard retaliated and the militants fled away.
