Traffic restored on Srinagar-Leh highway after remaining suspended for 3 days

Sonamarg: Traffic on 434-km long Srinagar-Leh national highway, linking Ladakh region with Kashmir valley, was restored on Thursday after remaining suspended for three days due to massive landslide at Zojila Pass.
Traffic was restored for light motor vehicles on Thursday evening form both the sides, Mohammad Ibrahim, a traffic official at Sonmarag, told Kashmir Reader.
He said Traffic was suspended on the highway following massive landslide at Zojila since Tuesday afternoon.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) from Sonamarg side and VIJAYAK from Drass responsible for the maintenance of the highway, immediately pressed into service sophisticated machinery and men to clear the landslides, officials said.
