Students protest against teacher for beating class five Girl in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Students of a Government school Friday blocked Srinagar-Leh highway and staged a protest against a teacher for allegedly beating a class 5th girl student in Mamar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Accusing the teacher of corporal punishment, the students of Govt Middle school Dardwooder Mamar boycotted their classes and assembled along with their parents on Srinagar-Leh highway at Mamar resulting into blockage of vehicular movement on the highway.
They demanded strict action against the teacher.
Protesting students also demanded immediate transfer of the “erring” teacher who allegedly beat a class 5th girl student.
Protesting students said the incident took place yesterday over some petty issue in class room and teacher Ajaz Ahmad war son of Ali Mohammed War resident of Hayan Palpora, started beating up the student resulting into major fractures in her arm.
The protesting students dispersed off after the intervention of police and ZEO Hariganwan and traffic restored on busy highway.
