SRINAGAR: Minister for Health & Medical Education J&K, Dr D K Manyal on Monday paid a surprise visit to JLNM Hospital Rainawari, the apex hospital of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK).
The minister inspected various sections of the hospital and interacted with OPD and IPD patients and their attendants. He inspected the functioning and healthcare delivery of casualty and gynae section of the hospital and sought from the patients whether the services provided by government are being given to them as per the laid norms.
Taking stock of the status of dialysis centre at JLNM, Dr Manyal emphasised the hospital administration for its speedy completion. He said the aim of government is to provide hassle-free treatment facilities to the patients in the government health institutions.
The minister was accompanied by Director General Health Services, Dr Saleem ur Rehman and Project Director JKSACS Dr Mushtaq Pathan. The Director General apprised the minister about the level of healthcare services in terms of various specialities being provided to the patients. Expressing satisfaction over the work and conduct of the hospital, the minister appreciated the health personnel and hospital administrator Dr Samina Mufti.
Later, the minister took a detailed review of Amarnath Yatra 2018 where in the Director General briefed him about the ongoing arrangements. The minister laid stress on providing all necessary healthcare facilities to the pilgrims. The Yatra is going to commence from 28 June 2018.
