Ganderbal: One person died and six others were injured in two separate road accidents in Ganderbal district on Saturday evening.
Reports said In Beehama Ganderbal an Auto load carrier bearing registration number JK16-2675 collided head-on with a Tempo traveller bearing registration number JK02AQ-8863.
Officials said that the accident happened on Saturday late evening at around 8:45 pm when a Tempo traveller was on way to Srinagar from Sonamarg when it collided head-on with Auto load carrier coming from opposite direction near Tehsil office Ganderbal resulting in injuries to three persons.
The injured have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Akhoon son of Ghulam Mohammed Akhoon a resident of Habak, Ashiq Illahi Dar son of Ghulam Mohammed Dar a resident of Naseem Bagh travelling in Auto load carrier and a tourist woman Elfha Ajay wife of Ajay a resident of Mumbai travelling in Tempo traveller.
All the injured were shifted to nearby hospital for medical assistance where doctors referred them to SKIMS Soura and bone and joints hospital Srinagar for advance treatment, police said.
However, injured Ashiq illahi Akhoon succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura. Police said a case was registered in this regard.
Meanwhile, in another road accident in Sonamarg area, four persons were injured after a tipper bearing registration number JK16-7100 was on its way to Sonamarag from Baltal turned turtle in fishpond Sonamarg resulting in injuries to four persons travelling in the tipper.
All the injured were shifted to nearby hospital for medical assistance.
The Injured persons have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie son of Nazir Nazir Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Sultan Mir, Ghulam Hassan Chopan son of Ghulam Mohammad, and Ashiq Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, residents of Fraw Gund
Police has registered a case in this regard.
