SRINAGAR: Srinagar Municicpal Commisioner, Riyaz Ahmed Wani on Saturday distributed free gas connections to poor people under Ujjwala Scheme launched by Ministry of Petroleum, government of India (GoI) and CAPD Department, J&K. More than 200 women beneficiaries were given these connections here at a function organised by Indane distributor, Kashmir Gas Agency, at Haft Chinar, Srinagar.
Deputy Director, CAPD, Mohammad Aslam appealed the people of the valley to come forward with documents for all required formalities to take the benefit of the scheme launched by the state and GoI.
Propreitor, Kashmir Gas Agency, Jagmohan Singh Raina and Manager, Indian Oil Pervez Khan also spoke on the occasion and stressed to complete the target of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the larger interest of female population of Jammu and Kashmir. They appealed that the beneficiary may apply for new LPG gas connection under e-PMUY scheme by filing the prescribed Know Your Customer (KYC) application along with the supplementary KYC and undertaking for expanded PMUY and submitting the same to the LPG distributors. The gas connections are free of cost under the declared categories notified by the government.
“We have to complete our free gas connection availability to the poor people to every nook and corner of the valley, provided identified ration card holders come forward for their benefit to get free gas connection, said Jagmohan Singh Raina, proprietor Kashmir Gas Agency.
