Srinagar: At least 19 paramilitary CRPF personnel were injured after a vehicle in which they were travelling in skidded off the road near Bemina on Srinagar outskirts Sunday morning.
Reports said that the vehicle of 28 BN CRPF was on way to convoy ground when it turned turtle resulting in injuries to 19 personnel.
Reports quoting IG CRPF Ravideep Sahai said that the mishap took place after some “miscreants pelted stones” on the vehicle.
However, nearly an hour the accident, SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray said that based on CCTV camera footage it is clear that there was no stone pelting in the area and the mishap occurred as the CRPF driver lost control over the vehicle.

He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered.
All the injured have been hospitalised. Nine among the injured where shifted to army’s 92 Base hospital Badamibagh for treatment where the condition of a trooper is stated to be critical.
