Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman and the patron of MutahidaMajlis-e-Ulema (MMU) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday termed the fasting month of Ramadan full of blessings and a great opportunity for the believers to get closer to Almighty Allah and to seek his forgiveness.
Mirwaiz said that the month teaches believers Taqwa and guides us to fight temptation.He said the great month also provides a chance to the faithful to help poor, destitute and downtrodden people and to earn a great reward here and hereafter.
He said Ramhan doesn’t only mean to avoid eating foot from dawn to dusk but also to introspect and to follow the same path in rest of the 11 months of the year.
Addressing gathering at Jamia Ahlihadith Wanganpora, Eidgah, in connection with the Ashra-e-Rehmat(first ten days of Ramadhan), Mirwaiz said that the sacred month provides a great chance to the believers to know their responsibilities towards religion and also to their society. The month, he said, teaches brotherhood, harmony and unity to face the challenges in the society collectively to ensure a constructive society.
