Srinagar: Farooq Ahmad Dar, the artisan who was tied to an army jeep and used as a “human shield” by Major Leetul Gogoi in Budgam district on April 9, 2017, on Thursday held a protest demonstration at Press Enclave Srinagar to demand action against Major Leetul Gogoi.
Major Gogoi was on Wednesday detained by police after he arrived with a local girl at a Srinagar hotel and then got into a scuffle with the hotel staff. He was taken to police station Khanyar, from where the police handed him over to his army unit.
Dar was joined by human rights activist Ahsan Untoo at the demonstration today. They carried placards which read, “Arrest the habitual offender,” “Arrest the sadist”.
