Srinagar: A local court on Tuesday granted interim bail till May 28 to the driver of the police armoured vehicle that crushed to death a youth, Adil Ahmed Yadoo, in Srinagar last month.
The police driver was booked under FIR no 51/2018 Section 304-A RPC (causing death by negligence).
The police driver was arrested 12 days ago. He was released today after the interim bail was granted to him by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar.
The court directed the accused police driver to be present before this court on May 28.
The counsel for the complainant – Yadoo’s family – vehemently opposed the bail and said the boy’s death was a deliberate and intentional act meant to kill the boy.
Father of the victim, Ghulam Rasool Yadoo, said to Kashmir Reader: “I want justice for my son and request the judge to make a fair judgement in this case.”
The 18-year-old Adil Yadoo was crushed to death under the police armoured vehicle in downtown Srinagar following a gunfight between militants and government forces.
