SRINAGAR: J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Srinagar has condemned the army firing in Shopian at Iftar time in which four girls were injured, terming it “barbaric and shameful”.
“At a time when Indian collaborators in the state are all praising the Government of India’s decision of Ramadhan ceasefire every day and are describing the same as a welcome step, the use of force by the ruthless forces at D.K. Pora is an indication as to how these pitiless Indian armed forces are behaving in Kashmir under the tutelage of Indian government and are killing, blinding, maiming, injuring and harassing the innocent Kashmiris with bullets and pellets, on one pretext or the other, without any fear of accountability or reprisal from anyone,” Bar said in a statement.
The Bar has demanded that police which have already registered an FIR in the matter should investigate the same promptly and file a report before the court against the culprits.
The Association also denounced the continued detention of Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen.
