Act Svt. 2006 & section 201, 120-B, RPC has been registered after an outcome of a verification to look into the allegations of Fraud/embezzlement in scholarship funds of Pahari speaking/Gujjar Bakarwal students in education department zone Boniyar of District Baramulla during the financial year 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2012-13.
The enquiry revealed the then Zonal Education officers in connivance with the then dealing staff and others under a well knit conspiracy have fraudulently and dishonestly inflated the figures of Gujjar Bakerwal and Pahari speaking students, obtained excess funds from CEO Baramulla on account of scholarship and later on by fudging/misplacing the records besides disbursing the scholarships only to actual number of beneficiaries, thereby misappropriating the excess funds, statement said.
“Thus by abuse of their official position, officials misappropriated the Govt. money meant for scholarship and caused loss to the state exchequer. Accordingly a Case has been registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir and the Investigation of the case is going on,” statement reads.
